Christopher Uriarte (born 1975) is an American computer scientist and entrepreneur employed by the London-based fraud prevention and payment processing company, Retail Decisions. In 2007, he was named one of the top 25 technology executives in the United States when he was awarded the CTO 25 Award by InfoWorld Magazine.〔(2007 InfoWorld CTO 25 Awards )〕 ==Early career==
Uriarte was formally the Chief Architect and Managing Partner for The AdProtech group, a company formed by himself and two other partners while he was studying computer science and psychology at Rutgers University.〔(Career Progression article ) about Uriarte on the (redltd.com ) website.〕 Much of the group's research focus in 1996 and 1997 dealt heavily in areas related to intellectual property and copyright protection on the Internet, in conjunction with their partners at Intellectual Protocols, LLC. During this time, the company developed techniques used to register dynamic content-driven websites with the United States Copyright Office. As a result of this research, Uriarte was granted the first certificate of copyright ever awarded to an Internet website, in its entirety. The copyright was awarded to the (Golden Hamster Interactive ) website, which was a parody site created by Uriarte and his partner, Lewis Kurfist. Prior to starting AdProTech, Uriarte was the Director of Technical Services for IDT Corporation, a major American-based network services provider and telephone services company.〔(Chris Uriarte's Professional Biography )〕 From 2001 until 2005, he served as an adjunct to the Rutgers University Center for Applied Computing Technologies.〔(Chris Uriarte's Official Biography )〕
